Have any of you tried NOSTR?

Have any of you all tried NOSTR? At first I thought it was just Mastodon for bitcoin bois, but the more I learn about it and the more I use it the more I like it. Still mostly Bitcoin bois though. I’ve only really used the e2ee encrypted microblogging. I haven’t messed with the Zap lightning payment system that funds it, the chat groups or streaming services.

In case you havent’ heard of it a good place to start is njump - jump on board on Nostr, start now!

Has anyone used Nerostr? GitHub - pluja/nerostr: nostr paid relay, but with monero

Heard of it some times, but I haven’t tested it yet

In many way one of the most successful attempts to make decentralized SoMe.

But yes, you kind of get tired of the constant feed of Bitcoin maximalists.

And somehow, even though on-ramping has been made easy with apps like Primal, it is just very hard to attract the normies to the Nostr. Somehow they can’t grasp the concept of de-centralized and not ONE website and one signup.

I’ve been on Nostr for a few years now, I like it a lot but I wish more people used it. The bitcoin maxis are only so numerous on the network because their communities were willing to follow them there, but there’s really nothing stopping other people from joining.

On a technical level, I like how they implemented it more than ActivityPub, but I have much bigger following and reach on ActivityPub. Maybe one day it will take off
